Celebrating the Future of NHS Radiography: First Graduates of the MSc Diagnostic Radiography Apprenticeship

December 2024 marked a major milestone in healthcare education as the first cohort of the Level 6 MSc Diagnostic Radiography Degree Apprenticeship programme graduated. This achievement highlights the vital role of apprenticeships in training skilled radiographers and addressing NHS workforce challenges.

To celebrate this success, we’re excited to share our latest podcast episode: Training the Future of NHS Radiography.

In this episode, Programme Lead Jenny Shepherd speaks with Gill Kite and Karl Nottage from the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust about the transformative impact of the apprenticeship. They explore:

  • The benefits of hosting apprentices in NHS radiology departments
  • The challenges and rewards of the accelerated two-year programme
  • The positive impact on both apprentices and the wider radiology workforce

The Level 6 MSc Diagnostic Radiography Degree Apprenticeship is revolutionising radiographer training by providing a practical, hands-on approach that aligns with NHS demands. By equipping apprentices with essential skills, the programme is not only expanding the workforce but also ensuring high-quality patient care.

If you’re interested in how this apprenticeship is shaping the future of diagnostic radiography, listen to our podcast now.

Looking ahead, the programme will welcome its fourth cohort in November 2025.
