Coming Soon: New Business Engagement and Innovation Brand

The University of Exeter is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of its new Business Engagement and Innovation (BEI) brand:  Exeter Innovation.

Our new brand will provide easy access to the University’s business engagement and innovation offer, services and activities. It will help us drive new partnerships between researchers and external partners and develop new educational partnerships that support workforce development. From the 29th of September 2023, when the new brand is formally launched by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Lisa Roberts, Innovation, Impact and Business (IIB) will become Exeter Innovation (EI).

But why a new brand? What are we hoping to achieve?

Delivering the Strategy 2030 with Exeter Innovation

Universities are not only centres of excellence in research and education; they are hubs of innovation, creativity, and transformation. The University of Exeter recognises this and works to create a greener, healthier and fairer future through its 2030 Strategy. Our strategy demands a brand that reflects our institution’s excellence in research, education, and collaboration. Exeter Innovation aims to communicate these strengths, driving new partnerships and industry collaborations that are crucial to delivering this strategy.

A Gateway to Collaboration and Excellence

Exeter Innovation will provide a new gateway that connects organisations to the wealth of resources and expertise the University of Exeter offers. We want to remove barriers and create a seamless portal for new connections between our academics, teaching staff, industry and other partners. The soon to be launched Exeter Innovation website will be partner facing, and in just three clicks, our partners can connect with the resources they need and embark on a transformative journey with us. This is just the first phase of development of Exeter Innovation, and we look forward to working with you to further refine and develop our partner facing website.

Leading The Way

In a competitive landscape, standing out is essential. Exeter Innovation will ensure that the University of Exeter is at the forefront of the sector in promoting our work with partners and proving access to our world class expertise. Our university already has many outstanding knowledge assets and expertise that set us apart from the rest. This new website and communications assets will enable us to communicate these strengths most effectively.

A Co-ordinated Approach to Collaboration

Exeter Innovation isn’t just a brand of course; it’s a way of working that brings teams and efforts together to achieve maximum social and economic impact. By presenting our Business Engagement and Innovation offer and services under a single umbrella, the brand aims to offer a streamlined and recognisable approach to collaboration.

Guiding Principles

The Exeter Innovation brand is the outcome of a collaborative consultation process, with over 200 individuals, including partner organisations, senior university executives, academics, and professional services staff engaged. This consultation helped established the brand identity for Exeter Innovation, reflecting our institution’s strengths and values, and laying the foundation for the new brand’s look, positioning, and strategy.
